Psychology, Why Does it Matter?

Psychology as a discipline began in the late 19th century. It is now an ever-changing landscape of research that attempts to uncover the complexity of the human mind. Because psychology focuses on the fundamental understanding of the human mind, it’s applicable to almost every aspect of our lives.

‍ A skill set that comes with studying psychology is the ability to become better self-monitors. Being a better self-monitor means better self-awareness, better understanding of complex social queues, and developing a better understanding of others. That is exactly why even knowing the gist of behavioral psychology can be important in maintaining our mental health.

In our nation of Canada, our post-secondary institutions offer some of the best psychology programs in the world, notably UoT, UBC, and McGill. If you have any interest in pursuing psychology now is as good a time as any.
